This collection includes, in order: Anne of Green Gables, 1908, Anne's age 11-16; Anne of Avonlea, 1909, 16-18; Anne of the Island, 1915, 18-22; Anne's House of Dreams, 1917, 25-27; Rainbow Valley, 1919, 41; Rilla of Ingleside, 1921, 49-53. It also includes two related books in which Anne Shirley appears, but not as the main character: Chronicles of Avonlea, 1912, and Further Chronicles of Avonlea, 1920. This collection does not include Windy Poplars and Anne of Ingleside, both of which are still under copyright. All the other books of the series are included. According to Wikipedia: "The central character, Anne, an orphaned girl, made Montgomery famous in her lifetime and gave her an international following. The first novel was followed by a series of sequels with Anne as the central character. The novels became the basis for the highly acclaimed 1985 CBC television miniseries, Anne of Green Gables and several other television movies and programs, including Road to Avonlea, which ran in Canada and the U.S. from 1990-1996."
